Among the items tresured on Our Lady of Rocks is an exquisite silken embroidery — a 25-year labor of love made by a local parishioner. Remarkably, the parisoner used her own hair for the angels ornamenting the border, and you can trace her laborious progress by the hair's changing color. As the years went by, the hair of the devout artist — and thus the hair of the angels — turned from dark brown to white. Humble and anonymous as she was, she had faith that her work was worthwhile and would be appreciated — as it is today, two centuries later, by travelers from around the world.
mostar
Rick Steves best describes Mostar as offering an accessible and enticing introduction to Bosnian culture, highlighting its scenic setting, beautiful Turkish-style architecture, and the iconic Old Bridge (Stari Most). He emphasizes its role as a place where cultures mingle, with Ottoman influence evident in the architecture and daily life, while also acknowledging the scars of the recent war.
wine tours
Dubrovnik's wine scene is known for its rich, full-bodied reds like Plavac Mali and Dingač, and unique white wines like Pošip and Malvasia Dubrovačka. These wines, particularly those from the Pelješac peninsula and the island of Korčula, are characterized by their distinct flavors, aromas, and ability to pair well with local cuisine.

What our visitors say about us
- "!Trying to reconcile the many different viewpoints that have sat in his passenger seat Pepo private driver guide quizzes me about USA politics .Turns out Pepo listens USA radio stations and reads New York Times. He may be better informed about american politics than some of his American clients, without sharing his own or passing judgement. You are very wise I sayI am not wise he shoots back I ve just talked to million people.Excerpt from the book Temporary European by Cameron Hewitt" Comments on Reddit Extension_Strain71•2mo agoThere's only one answer to this... Pepo. Just did a trip with him yesterday. Absolutely the most brilliant trip to Mostar and other lesser visited spots in Bosnia on a day trip. Hes rick Steve's recommended in all the guide books (that's how I found him). Incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Wish we had another day so he can take us to Montenegro. You can find him on instagram at @dubrovnikoldtown

- "Dear Pepo: I finished reading "The Bridge On The Drina" by Ivo Andric on the plane back to America. It was a beautifully written book even in translation. I can only imagine how poetic it would be in Croatian. Thank you so much for the referral. The stories strung together by the thread of the Bridge were both unique and universal. The everyday joys and fears that we all feel were played out in the characters daily, yet extraordinary lives, with the inevitable realization that no matter how comfortable or depressed, confident or anxious, on top of things or not, we may be, circumstances will change and we must adapt. Life's turns, whether sharp or gradual, will occur and must be faced, and even then, we must know, as with the Bridge, that destruction is inevitable, and it is what comes after that is the ultimate mystery. Victoria and I enjoyed the time we spent together and look forward to seeing you again in Croatia, America or wherever our paths may cross. The stories, history lessons, and other information and feelings that you imparted will remain with us forever and we thank you for them. All the best to you and your family,-"

We had an absolutely unforgettable daytrip from to Dubrovnik to Kotor with Pepo. He was not only extremely professional, but also a special soul with great stories, knowledge of history, and a heartwarming energy. He made sure the day ran not only smoothly but edifyingly, envisioned and executed special stops to make the day even more magical, and was very generous with his wisdom and timing, all tailored to our genuine preferences. For example, we preferred leaving very early in the morning to get the best light, and beat the heat and crowds, and he brilliantly guided us to experience exactly that and much more. We have been fortunate to travel to many beautiful places around the world, and we consider him to be one of the most special souls we’ve ever met. He’s a fantastic ambassador of the beautiful culture of Croatia, and the Balkans as a whole. We heartily recommend Pepo for any tours around Dubrovnik and to Montenegro and look forward to traveling with him again in future visits to the region! We had a great experience with Pepo on a round trip day trip from Dubrovnik to Mostar and Montenegro. Pepo picked us up from Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. He gave us information about the history of these places and how was it growing up inside the walls of Dubrovnik's old town.
While returning from Kotor he took us to a very nice and quaint restaurant along the Ljuta River and in Mostar overlooking the Stari most. As we have a wheelchair user in the family he took extra care in navigating routes around the places and also helped us with the wheelchair. He made our Dubrovnik experience memorable. I will recommend Pepo to everyone going to Croatia.Emily Taylor
